Fashion evolution through fashion revolution....

In the grand scheme of things, I was put on this earth for a purpose. That purpose was not defined by me, but I must seek to fulfill it- that is, if I seek to be fulfilled. Fashion is my passion (no pun intended), and I have always had a keen sense of what's gonna be hot... 10 years from now. With that said, I've decided instead of whining about how I can't find classic nor trendy items that keep my closet stocked to my liking - then I'll start my own line. Something to quench the masses... cause I know I'm not the only one. With that said, no man is an island - and I'll need help in reaching my goal, thereby fulfilling my purpose. Therein lies the request....

I'm looking for someone who is:

A- Nice with the charcoal pencils & sketch pad (Fashion CAD experience a PLUS)

- AND -

B - Able to sew/stitch/seam their proverbial a$$ off!!

I am in desperate need for someone to bring some of my ideas to light. Compensation can be discussed for serious & talented inquirers. Commissioned work will be for an upcoming trademarked made-to-wear clothing line. The right talent can expect to be acknowledged publicly for their contributions.

I apologize for making it sound all philosophical and apocolyptic, but to me - it IS just that serious.

The denim I'm in

Denim. A classic American staple. A good pair will set you back about $50 or $60. A Great pair? $100+ But do we care? Nope. We just gotta have ‘em. So what do we do to keep that great fitting pair of hip hugging, curve enhancing, stiletto heel draping perfect shade of indigo in their “I just bought these a week ago” shade?

I’m gonna get a little Martha Stewart on you for a second with a quick tip on keeping those jeans looking fresh. Invest in a bottle of vinegar, and leave it in your laundry room. Then when you wash your denim for the first time, be sure to do the following:

Turn them inside out before you wash them.
Be sure to set your washing machine to a cold water wash setting.
Use a little less than the suggested detergent for the size load that you have (just eyeball it)
And add a teaspoon of the trusty vinegar
Complete the rest of your housekeeping as usual

You’ll only need to do this once to set the dye in your jeans. It also helps to do it before you wear them the first time, so that the dye does not rub off on your shoes or handbags (with which I had a bad experience that is too painful to even delve into at this time).

Now I do admit that a pair of jeans that are faded in all the right places is very sexy in an aloof sort of way. A pair of my own was actually the inspiration for today’s column. For those of you that are in need of a guide (or just a refresher) for what type of jeans best fit your booty type - - excuse me BODY type, just take a look below:

Thin frame (wide or slim hips, but not much booty): Stretch jeans with slim legs; heels help make you look curvier. Avoid: stiff denim, loose fits, and boy cuts.

Curvy frame (big booty): Skin-tight is OK; also straight-cut that is one size too large; stretch jeans, or have a fitted pair that is a size too large taken in at the waist.

Aerodynamically Challenged (short): Classic jean styles- natural waist; wear legs slightly long with heels. Avoid: Flared or wide-legs jeans.

Boyish figure (those without a defined waistline): Boy cuts; low-rise, straight-leg styles; fitted behind.

Volumptuous (an hour glass, with just a lil’ more tummy): Styles that sit slightly lower than your waist; one size large and have hips taken in.

Short-Waisted: Even lower rise

Long-Waisted: Styles that sit near your waist; straight (not snug) legs. Avoid: Flares, wide-legs, cropped cuts, anything baggy.

Bottom-Heavy: Slightly lower rise; dark denim; slight boot-cut. Avoid: Tight legs or hems, small or widely spaced back pockets.

Jeans are multidimensional. They can be sexy, classy, casual & tough. I think I’ll go out and buy another pair now…

The long awaited, for some most anticipated, has finally arrived. I have created (and committed to *smile*) an emerging fashion, beauty (and everything in between) blog.

Who am I, and what gives me the nerve you ask?
Because I'm d.nyree, and because I can.

But really, I live - eat - sleep - breathe fashion (and its kissing cousins beauty and cosmetics). I've had a hundred thousand ideas a hundred thousands times over about who should have wore what, what way & how I could have made it better. I've woken up from the deepest of sleep to write myself a note or layman's sketch about my own personal style revolution (coming to a store near you in the not so distant future). I'm addicted to E! and the Fabulous Life of... (where else can you get unabashed, somewhat non-biased, Do's & Don’ts of the Fashion Elite for the Fashionista's on the street?)

I am also a recovering Top Model addict, but I might relapse if given the proper stimuli next cycle.... Ms. Banks, this is your warning.

What can you come here for? For up to the minute trends and beauty info, shopping & boutique info, the occasional spa/salon check-in, and some lucky Fashionisté could receive their own personal image consulting and advice session from yours truly.
